The website is developing...

The 40 Voices are all posted, the printed book is launched (buy it through the website), and we've published an experimental category for your
Baptist Assembly articles and comments.  Navigation on the site has changed a little, but everything can be found through the top of page menu.
Lastly, please contribute you feedback and suggestions for the development of the website - what would help?

The 1,000+ comments that have been added to the articles are not currently displaying.
Don't panic, they are safe and we are working to have them visible on 8/5/12.

  • This site provides a conversation space for Baptists in the Baptist Union of Great Britain
  • Contributors are invited to offer reflections on what we Baptists need to be thinking about or doing in the coming years, in order to be true to our heritage and our calling. They will remind us of, and inspire us with, our core roots and values as British baptists.
  • Post articles and comments under your full name - no anonymous contributions.  It is difficult to have conversation with people when you do not know who they are!  Feel free to engage with articles and offer practical and constructive suggestions - honest questions and reflections welcome but please no moaning without offering something helpful!
  • When commenting on other contributions, please link to them as this will aid conversation and dialogue.
  • Please keep talking.  Of course this exercise has its limits and will not be faultless!  The authors won’t be able to cover everything we are all passionate about and they are only a small section of our Baptist community, but we hope this will kick start contributions from across our family. We are really grateful for all those who have responded to our invitation to participate so far and hope readers will appreciate their bravery and vulnerability in putting their thoughts and imaginations in the public sphere.
  • This is a public website and people who are not Baptists will probably be intrigued by it too, so let’s make sure we are building one another up.  Naturally, please be respectful of others within the Baptist community and those who have contributed, assuming good motives where you are uncertain.
  • The coordinators of Beyond 400 retain editorial control and the right to delete and edit inappropriate content.  We aim to exert as little control as possible, but will remove offensive or anonymous comments if we feel it right to do so.
  • Views expressed on www.beyond400.net do not necessarily represent the views of the coordinators.
